- Aqualia presents a new edition of its Digital Children's Competition www.aqualiayods6.com which, on this occasion, invites children to explore different ecosystems while learning how to take care of water and the planet.
- The company remains committed to SDG 6, "Clean Water and Sanitation", and to promoting the sustainable use of water among schoolchildren.
- The objective of the contest, now in its 21st year, is to educate in the present to train future generations in responsible water use.

Aqualia presents the twenty-first edition of its Digital Children's Competition, a benchmark in education on sustainable habits in the use of water for children. Last year's edition alone provided more than 4,500 hours of training and, to date, more than 250,000 students have participated in the competition.
Once again this year, children in 3rd and 4th grade of primary school can access www.aqualiayods6.com, where they will find the rules and didactic materials to participate in the contest. On this occasion, the organization offers them the chance to experience a real Aquaventura. Aqual and ODS6, tireless guardians of the management of the integral water cycle and sanitation, will be accompanied this year by the Sustainable Gang, a group of friendly characters, each of whom embodies a daily action that helps to care for the environment.
Participants will be able to choose different ecosystems (oceans, mountains, deserts, wetlands...) in which they will apply their knowledge about water and how to take care of it to protect biodiversity. At the end, and in the Sustainable Challenges section, they will be able to select the challenge with which, through small daily gestures, they will help protect the planet and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sustainability begins at home and at school
Year after year, through the Aqualia Competition, schools, teachers, town councils and families encourage children to become aware of the need to take care of the planet's water. In a fun way and through characters adapted to their age, they acquire a solid base of knowledge about water and its management, as well as daily habits in favor of responsible water consumption, recycling and reuse.
The competition is held in Spain and Portugal, where Aqualia manages the integral water cycle in several locations. In Colombia, students from the thirteen municipalities in the departments of Córdoba and Norte Santander, where Aqualia manages the water services, are also invited to participate. The students will be able to present their work until March 22, World Water Day.
Participants are eligible to win 10 individual prizes (10 cards for sports equipment, valued at 250 euros each). The 250 finalists will also receive a prize. In this case, each of them will receive a sports equipment card worth 30 euros each. The schools will also compete for 1 collective prize, consisting of a 1,000 euro card for educational material. The names of the winners will be published, starting on 5 June 2023 (World Environment Day), on Aqualia's website, on the competition's website, in all Aqualia's offices, on the Twitter account @aqualia and on Instagram aqualia_official.
Over the last 21 years, the competition has received numerous awards and recognitions in Spain and worldwide. The most recent of these, in 2021, as "Best Integrated Communication Strategy" in the 12th Edition of the Corresponsables Iberoamerican Awards. The competition is part of a series of initiatives that Aqualia regularly carries out with schools, colleges and universities to raise awareness of the stages of the water cycle and to educate people on more responsible consumption of this resource. The action is aligned with the strategy of its Strategic Plan 2021 - 2023 for a sustainable future as a real action with a positive impact on curbing climate change.
